That was the best part of the day -- climbing around in all the old & new choppers and other aircraft, many of them pretty darn old. Lost all the chopper shots because I was so excited I forget to remove the lens cover! Wonder if that's what kids today would call FAIL?
Half way thru the day the air part of the air show began, leaving half the flight line unexplored. It was great for the first hour or two. After that the air was full of smoke and whatever else was coming out of the jets. Plus, they left the best for last, which IMHO was a mistake because by then we'd seen others doing what the Thunderbirds did. Well,, maybe not quite as much DRAMA, but pretty darn close. And by that time I was in eye-crossing pain. Had to stop several times on the way back to the car, and man-oh-man was I glad to get home!
Next time the Air Show is going to be at Luke AFB and I'm gonna have to find a better way to manage day-long events before then. Overnight in Phoenix perhaps.....
Second: Saving Grace is going to have to wait until I get the DVD of the final season. It isn't my favorite TV show, but I really like Earl. Talk about perfect casting! Can't imagine any other as the chaw-spittin', t-shirt wearin', wild-haired, souvenir-bearing, sweet raggedy angel Earl.
OK. Caught up. Still debating on where to go from here............
