Well, yours truely is feeling pretty perky just now.  After fiddling around FOR EVER I finally got music on my blog.

Mostly it's just things that make me want to dance/sing along, with two exceptions .... Calling All Angels is for bigD even if she never knows about it, and I Love a Rainy Night because it rained a bit last night and we're supposed to get some tonite too.  Rain at night is the best. I love rain. I love to turn everything off and just listen to it. Always have. When I was that kid you see in yesterdays post I'd go outside and sit under the picnic table when it rained. Handy, that picnic table. I also used it for lying on so that I could watch the stars.

OK. Finding that when the music is playing I want to sing/dance - not so conducive to writing. Duh! Guess I should turn it down some.......

I've taken some photos of Laney so I can quit using the one from the Animal League. Not so easy as it turns out.  Don't know how they got her to stand still long enough to take that picture, she must have been in shock at the time!  What a wiggle worm she is, and its not just her tail - her whole being becomes one big wiggle when I call her name. It took several tries to get this one.....by which time she was thoroughly confused......
The first few were just a blur of fur. As you can see she wasted no time at all requisitioning Sophie's chair. Funny, it hasn't been that long since I finally gave in and washed the throw she's sitting on. I'd finally sniffed all the Sophie smell out of it.  Laney is 6 or 7, her records aren't real clear, and she's an Irish Setter/? mix. She has a fused break in her right back leg so she came home with a supply of Rimadyl, a ton of dog food, bones, a ball and a soft toy. Turns out she has no interest in the ball or the toy, but Jack likes balls so that works out fine. I'm going to try to get hold of a frisbee and see if she likes that. For the moment she seems happy enough to walk on the green and the desert with me. She's so, so good on the leash and quickly learned she couldn't tear up and down stairs because I can't. So now she waits and watches me until I've gone up a few then she follows. Man, did I get lucky!

Some times we walk on The Green. Its called that for obvious reasons to a desert rat, but maybe not so much for others. Since we're plopped down in the middle of the desert here, there are very few green spots at all - no lawns - so we all love to walk thru the grass where we can.

I snapped this shot this morning while I was waiting for Laney to take care of business.
Then we moved on to the fountain

If you look very closely at the right top of the fountain you may see a bump that doesn't seem to belong there.  It's a hummingbird and he was having a great time leaning into the bubbling water at the top.
When I crept closer for a better shot I got, well.....

Nothing!
After we wander here and there on the green and visit with whoever's out and about, we go all the way to the end back there where the sidewalk disappears, turn around, and head back.

That's the Clubhouse in the background.  The first shot was taken from the rise on the left. When we run out of grass we head off to the left and go around the front of the Clubhouse.

No grass to walk on there except for the little bit on the right but you have to go out of your way to walk on it! While I've cropped it out, there's a fairly big intersection here and one of the things we've been working on is for Laney to sit when I stop before we proceed across the street. She's picking it up nicely.

Just looked out the window and just like yesterday the sky is now a mass of solid grey clouds. Time to check on the crock pot where there's chili a'brewin', check the fridge to be sure there's beer, check the Kindle to be sure the new book is there, and dig the flannels out.  It may only hit 40 tonite but it's winter to me kids!
